How to Compare YouTube Channels Side by Side with VIRA
Why Comparing One Channel at a Time Falls Short
Looking up one competitor's stats, writing them down, then opening a
second tab for the next one is slow and error-prone — by the time
you've checked three channels, you've forgotten how the first one
compared. VIRA's Compare mode puts them on screen at once instead.
Step 1: Open Compare From Channel Analytics
On VIRA's Channel Analytics page, click Compare. It opens two
channel-URL slots to start, with an option to add a third — up to
three channels side by side in one view.
Step 2: Paste the Channel URLs and Run It
Paste each channel's URL into a slot and click Compare. VIRA pulls
each channel's current data and lines the results up in columns.
Step 3: Read the Columns That Actually Matter
Each channel gets its own column showing:
- --Subscribers — raw audience size
- --Total views — lifetime reach
- --Growth index — a multiplier with a trend arrow, showing
whether a channel is accelerating or slowing down
- --Average recent views — a more honest read on current
performance than lifetime totals
- --Shorts vs long-form split — what format mix is actually
driving their channel
- --Publish frequency — videos per week
- --Audience sentiment — a percentage with a trend arrow, based
on comment sentiment
Reading growth index and publish frequency together tells you more
than either alone: a channel growing fast while posting less often is
doing something with higher per-video impact than one growing slowly
despite posting daily.
Step 4: Use the Comparison to Find Your Angle
Line up channels similar in size to yours, not the biggest names in
the niche. If one has a much higher Shorts split and a faster growth
index, format mix might be the lever. If one has stronger sentiment
despite fewer views, their content quality — not their reach — is
the differentiator worth studying.
