What VIRA's MCP Server Actually Gives an AI Agent
VIRA runs a remote MCP server at mcp.tryvira.app/mcp that exposes its
TikTok topic corpus (40,000+ topics, updated daily) and tools for
trend discovery, audience demand, and content playbooks directly to
an AI agent — so instead of pasting data into a chat, your agent can
query it live. It's included on both the Free and Pro plans; Free
gets every tool with shortened answers (7-day trends, previews), Pro
gets full depth (up to 180-day trends, full audience breakdowns) and
a larger daily allowance.
Step 1: Create an API Key (Skip This for ChatGPT)
Sign in to VIRA with Google, then open VIRA's MCP page from the app
menu. In the API keys card, click Create a key, give it a name,
and copy the key — it's shown only once. You can have up to 10 keys
at a time.
ChatGPT can't send a custom API key header, so it connects with
Google sign-in (OAuth) instead — skip this step if that's your
client.
Step 2: Add VIRA as an MCP Server in Your Client
VIRA's MCP page shows a ready-to-copy setup snippet for each client,
so you never have to type the server URL by hand:
- --Claude Code — copy the command shown on the MCP page and run
it in a terminal; it registers the server with your API key in one
line.
- --Claude Desktop — Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom
connector. Paste the server URL and sign in with Google when
prompted.
- --Cursor — use the "Add to Cursor" button on VIRA's MCP page, or
paste the provided config into your Cursor MCP settings file.
- --VS Code — paste the provided config into your workspace's MCP
settings file and press Start above the new server entry.
- --ChatGPT — turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings, then
add a custom connector with the server URL and sign in with
Google.
Step 3: Ask It Something Real
Once connected, try asking your agent something like "what's growing
on TikTok this week that few creators cover?" A successful answer
ends with a quota line, confirming the agent is actually pulling live
data through your account rather than guessing.
