How to Build a TikTok Swipe File with VIRA's Saved Videos
Why a Swipe File Beats Scattered Screenshots
Good content ideas usually show up while you're scrolling for
something else, and then disappear just as fast — buried in camera
roll screenshots or a notes app you forget to open. A swipe file only
works if adding to it is effortless and you can actually find
everything again later. That's what VIRA's Saved videos feature is
for.
Step 1: Save Straight from TikTok Finder
Every video card in VIRA's TikTok Finder has a bookmark icon in the
top-right corner. Click it once to save the video — no extra steps,
no leaving the search results. The icon fills in to confirm it's
saved, and clicking it again removes it.
Step 2: Find Everything on the Saved Page
Open the Saved page from VIRA's app menu. It has separate tabs for
Shorts, Channels, TikTok and Instagram, so your saved TikTok videos
stay in their own tab instead of mixed in with everything else you've
bookmarked.
This is where a swipe file actually becomes useful: instead of
re-searching for a video you vaguely remember, you open one tab and
scroll through everything you flagged as worth revisiting.
Step 3: Know the Free Plan Limit
On the Free plan, you can save up to 10 items total — that cap is
shared across TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram, not 10 per
category. Once you hit it, saving another video prompts an upgrade.
Pro removes the cap entirely, so your swipe file can grow as large as
you actually need it to.
If you're on Free and building a swipe file seriously, it's worth
being selective: save the videos whose *format* you want to come back
to, not every video that caught your eye for a second.
Step 4: Revisit It Before You Plan Content
A swipe file is only valuable if you actually open it. Before your
next content planning session, go through your Saved TikTok tab and
ask which videos still feel strong a week or two later — those are
the formats worth adapting, not the ones that only looked good in the
moment.
